The SS16 season KSENIA SCHNAIDER prefers natural simplicity over complexity. The designer duo turned to nature for inspiration.
The reigning colors of the new collection are white, black, grey and nude. Their combinations resemble both a birch trunk and a marble stone. The materials include 100% silk, cotton and cotton wax, chiffon and swan-down for the quilted jackets.
These jackets have been included into the collection to arm the women against the unpredictable spring weather. Sudden cold blasts will not ruin the day with a swan-down stuffed jacket. It is almost weightless yet very warm.
The silhouette is mostly strict and reserved: button-down shirts, warm quilted jackets, crop tops with patches of contrasting fabrics, double-breasted sleeveless dresses and folded skirts, high waisted shorts and flared trousers, as well as slim fit pants. As for length, the midi rules the mood of the collection, although the shorts are extremely mini. White and black silk layers overlap for a lighter, more "floating" look.
For footwear, KSENIA SCHNAIDER suggests pump shoes without the heelpiece. Accessorize the collection items with mineral gems bracelets, pendants and massive rings.
Inspiration taken from the nature can be seen in the raw edges of the clothing, the choice of strictly natural materials, and simple forms that border on minimalism. The collection has many basic-type designs and still bears the signature characteristics of the brand: pixeled prints and decorum and tight-fit silhouettes.
