Finding a Maximum in the Minimum
Julie Pascal always only uses one model every season, and the model for her PASKAL Spring/Summer 2016 perfectly flaunts the arrangement of many complex details to form a bold statement. Circles, ruffles and see through materials appeared throughout the campaign and the lookbook to create stylish and unique outfits. These design choices represented a fun yet transparent aura.
Paskal’s engineering and architecture background inspired the creation of all her pieces, but this season presented an entirely new color scheme: pink, black, orange and white.
The model posed in a minimalistic setting for the lookbook—all white—so that nothing detracted from the bold pieces of fashion, whereas the campaign continued the pale backdrop while including a wispy potted plant in every photograph. The model also dons sunglasses and black sneakers for the campaign, which demonstrate the casual and comfortable style of the beach—the inspiration for this collection. This contrasts from the chunky heels that adorn almost every outfit in the lookbook.
But regardless of the shoe, the model seemed at ease with her natural love and youth: two themes that penetrated PASKAL’s collection. The model emulated these traits through her nonchalant poses and free hair that matched every distinct outfit design.
