Finding a Bold Harmony in Prints

If you ever need a piece to pop as the weather starts warming up, look no further than Daria Liuba’s PRZHONSKAYA Spring Summer 16. Unlike many of Liuba’s past collections which focused on a monochromatic theme, this one is filled with bold colors such as deep blue, black and fuchsia. She centered her designs on the themes of “pure perception” and “aspirations for harmony.”

Photographer Lesha Lich conveys these essences by capturing the models in comfortable positions—as if they are one with the clothing. Lich highlights the abstract lines and details by shooting different angles of the outfits. This demonstrates how Liuba created strong statements with each design.

As a Ukrainian graphic designer, Liuba created the intricate prints on the fabrics herself.  These paralleled the various emotions embedded within the collection. But contrasting the distinct lines, these many feelings are blurred and layered, which add depth the models’ nonchalant poses.

So as to not take away from the bold outfit designs, the models all keep their hair in a half up and half down do while donning simple black shoes that seem to be the perfect companions for wearers to walk the paths to attaining the spirits of the themes.
