What You Need to Spend More on in Your Beauty Routine
Looking to push your glow to the next level? Everyone has some kind of basic beauty routine, but if you want a serious glow-up, you’re also going to need to invest some effort into holding yourself to a higher standard. Here are some of the first things to focus on!
Your Skin
If your skin looks good, everything will look good. Taking care of your skin means not only glowing with all of your makeup and outfit done up to perfection – it means looking naturally amazing when you roll out of bed in the morning. Everyone has different skin, with different levels of grease and different dispositions that make them lean towards or away from natural acne, so you’re going to need to tailor your routine to fit you. Use a hot shower to open your pores and then a cold shower to close them. Use a cleanser regularly to clear away dirt and grease. A high-quality facemask can go a long way! Avoiding dairy can also make it less likely for you to develop acne.
Your Hair
Just like with skin, your hair will be unique to you – so listen to your local salon’s advice. Some people will need to shampoo only once a week, and others will need to shampoo every day. Keep an eye out for dryness, greasiness, and dandruff – all of which can be treated with high-end products. But be careful! Dandruff shampoo especially can be hard on hair if used too often. Dryer hair will need conditioner. Conditioner can protect your hair from damage by strengthening the outer layer. Hair that is especially curly or kinky might even need a satin pillowcase or a hair wrap to protect it. If you have facial hair, use high-quality beard oil to soften it up.
Your Mind
Your mind and your body are inextricably connected. If you want your body to be healthy and beautiful, you also need to have a thriving, glowing mind. You need to love your body unconditionally, despite its imperfections – because the fact of the matter is, no matter how much money and effort you pour into a beauty routine, it will never be perfect. And that’s okay! Social media and modern digital marketing sometimes may make us feel as though perfection is real, but that’s simply false. Find a form of self-care or spirituality that helps you keep that internal-external equilibrium.
Beauty and fashion are themselves a form of self-care – if we approach the process in a healthy way. Keeping your skin, your hair, and your mind in tip-top shape will help you shine no matter where you are. Keep the vision of the kind of beauty you want to have as a clear goal, and with time and effort, you will achieve it!
